An athlete, by definition, is a person trained or gifted in exercises or contests involving physical ability, stamina, or strength.  An athlete is a participant in a sport, exercise, or game requiring physical skill.

The point is, if you’re exercising regularly, you’re an athlete.  Give yourself some credit.

Kettlebell training fits the bill perfectly for exercise that involves physical ability, stamina, and strength and is the tool that can turn anyone into an elite athlete.  Hear me out.

Training with kettlebells trains you how to move better, build total body power and strength, and can get you supremely conditioned, depending on how far you advance with your program.

I’ve never experienced a training tool that can deliver on so many different benefits, yet remain incredibly simple and complex at the same time.

What I meant is that the kettlebell is a very simple tool.  It’s a steel ball with a handle. But, this tool can teach you so much about how well you move (or don’t move) and how you perform dynamic total body movements.

And, just a few movements, like the swing, the turkish get up, the snatch, and the clean can give you an incredible amount of information about your movement and performance.

For example, if you learn how to perform these movements correctly, you are literally at a level of elite performance.

Properly executed kettlebell exercises can not only deliver great results, but will allow you to be at a physical level that most people dream of (whether they know it or not).

Let me expand on that point for just for a minute.  Most people are very humbled by their initial training with kettlebells.

When people stick around and realize that kettlebells are such powerful and beneficial training tools, they also realize that it’s a very special way to address their specific goals, whatever they may be.

That’s when the “a-ha” moment is and they typically realize that this is elite performance.  But, they still may not consider themselves as a ‘elite athlete.’

That’s where most people underestimate themselves.  If they learn how to use these tools properly, they are in a category of high physical performance.

So, no matter who you are or where you’re coming from, kettlebells can help turn you into a ‘elite athlete’ IF you learn how to use them properly and advance with your programs.

The kettlebell swing is one of the fundamental exercises.  It’s literally the foundation of kettlebell training. Without performing a swing correctly, it would be impossible to advance into other higher level exercises (i.e. the snatch, the clean).

The swing definitely takes time to learn, but when executed properly it’s one of the most benefit rich exercises there is, bar none.  It’s that powerful and that effective.
