22 Dec How To Develop The Unstoppable Mindset
What’s the key to training success?
How do the top athletes and peak performers achieve high levels of health and performance?
The real key or foundation to training success, body transformation, and ultimate lifestyle improvement is, without a doubt, your Mindset.
Everything starts with how you think.
Then, your thoughts dictate the actions you take.
Mindset is so vital to your success or failure, in fitness (or anything), that’s it’s really paramount to everything else. If you don’t have the right mindset prior to beginning your program, you’re doomed from the start.
Your mindset is the most important piece of the fitness puzzle for training success and achieving strength, health, or aesthetic goals.
You’ll need key elements of the right mindset to be successful with your health and fitness lifestyle and your physical or performance goals.
What are the key elements?
While there are many, here are some examples of key mindset elements:
- self-discipline
- commitment
- consistency
- drive
- dedication
- patience
- motivation
- focus
- persistence
- clarity with goal setting
These elements all have to do with having the proper mindset for you to achieve your fitness goals, no matter what they may be for you.
You may be closer than you think to getting what you want and having the “successful mindset” you need.
You will need to focus on constantly learning and evolving.
What I mean is learning more about having what the right mindset is and continually developing your mind (learn more about self discipline and motivation, learn from others such as mentors, etc.).
One great way to do this is by reading everything you can in the areas that interest you the most.
Another step in having a strong commitment to exercise and nutrition is clearly recognizing all the positive rewards you’ll get from your health and fitness lifestyle, such as:
- disease prevention
- improved body composition
- increased energy and productivity
- increased performance
- increased confidence and self-esteem
- and the list goes on…
How important are these things to you?
Why are these so important?
When you answer these questions, you’ll have far greater success.
Is is easy?
No, of course not, at least not for most of us, but over time and with proper mental conditioning and habit training, your mindset towards your exercise, nutrition, and overall wellness will dramatically improve.
We’re talking about habit building.
There are actions you can take right now to improve your mindset and make it stronger in your cause and for your goal attainment.
Actions like having a solid plan for what you’re going to do and how you’re going to do it.
For example, if you’re goal is to lose 10 pounds, then your plan to do that may be to exercise 4 times per week for a minimum of 30 minutes by doing dumbbells and bodyweight interval circuits for the next 30 days.
You will block out 30 minutes, 4 days a week in the morning and nothing will deviate you from that plan for at least the next 30 days, period.
That’s a rock plan and that’s what you do when you commit to it.
The next action is just that, it’s ACTION.
Just getting started and taking action on your plan, committing to the time block and duration that you’ve set out to do.
Usually the hardest part of something is the act of starting.
Once you’ve started, momentum is now in your favor.
You’ve got to believe that you can succeed and also have the right social support system, as well.
Your mindset will be elevated when you are committed to and believe that you can achieve your plan.
It’s much more than positive attitude, but when you believe that you will succeed in carrying out your plan (exercising regularly and eating well consistently), there will be nothing that stops you.
And having the social support of your family and friends to encourage and support you, will only intensify your strong mindset, even further.
There’s so much to be discussed on having a strong, positive mindset in your lifestyle and transformation, but once you have it and condition yourself for it, you’ll be unstoppable.
This is the critical key to all of your success: the power of your mind.
Obviously, this is a huge topic, but we’ll take it in small bites at a time, discussing individual elements like motivation, will power, and self discipline.
By having a strong foundation (the right mindset) you can literally become unstoppable.
You must also have patience to get the results you want.
Before exercise, before nutrition, your mindset is the foundation for your success in fitness (or anything else).
Get started, stay with it, and change your approach (if needed) over time to give you the results you want.
Be committed and realize that all the power for your success begins and ends in your mind.
